Molecular Characterisation Manager (m/f)

Job Description
• Interprets the BioScience project plans as a yearly operational planning for scientists and laboratory and administrative staff. Ensures that project deadlines are met and that customers are satisfied with the deliverables.
• Ensures the most effective, where applicable cheapest, and most up to date scientific methods, protocols and standard operating procedures are used in all studies. Discusses protocols and study plans with customers to ensure that the correct deliverables are made.
• Where applicable, identifies trusted external parties to provide services and data for studies. Manages the interaction with the third party, including setting up confidentiality agreements, fee-for service agreements, and paying invoices and fees on time.
• Interacts with other BioScience departments such as Research and Development functions to ensure that the starting materials for all studies are available on time.
• Interacts with other BioAnalytics departments and toxicology to ensure most efficient transfer of data and materials for their studies.
• Maintains a ‘world class’ quality of laboratory, by ensuring that the facilities are kept functional, clean and safe, and that the appropriate equipment is present, calibrated and generally fit for use.
• Communicates within BioScience on scientific matters in area of expertise, and provides this expertise as needed in external communications, for example site visits, in-house training etc.

Profile
- PhD in Life Sciences with 5+ years of team management experience
- Expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry with sound knowledge of laboratory activities
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in biotech
- Affinity with quality management systems and information management
- Team leadership
- Excellent interpersonal skills - Able to manage cultural diversity - Good communication skills
- Bilingual (English + second language)
