Bayer MaterialScience + CAT
CAT, the Catalytic Center, is a place, where researchers from universities and industry come
together to perform basic research in the area of catalysis. CAT is supported by Bayer
MaterialScience and Bayer Technology Services. Our laboratories are set within RWTH Aachen, one of
the leading German universities in science and technology. Aachen is situated directly on the
border with Belgium and the Netherlands, with a population of nearly 260,000. Nearly 40,000
students attend Aachen’s four major colleges and universities. At CAT we are currently offering:
Postdoctoral positions in catalysis research
Your tasks
The research at the centre is centred on homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis with special
emphasis on the following topics:
- Synthesis of low molecular weight building blocks for polymers
- CO2 fixation in polymers
- Activation of CH bonds in hydrocarbons
- Redox catalysis and partial oxidation reactions
Your profile
You are an outstanding researcher with recognized accomplishments in any field of chemical
engineering and chemistry. Experience in reaction engineering, coordinative polymerisation,
electrochemistry, high pressure chemistry and/or homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, is
preferred, but not required.
Your application
Applications, including resume, publication list and summary of research experience should be sent
to Dr. Thomas Müller, CAT Catalytic Center, ITMC, RWTH Aachen, Worringerweg 1, 52074 Aachen or via
e-mail using the below placed button. The positions are offered initially for one year.
