Job Description
As a Research Scientist at our Berlin site you will be involved providing support in drug discovery
and development projects. You will establish new cellular assays and use them in the selection,
optimization, characterization and detailed mode of action evaluation of lead candidates. Your
assignments also include the scientific planning, evaluation, interpretation and presentation of
experimental studies, as well as the collaboration in or the management of interdisciplinary
project groups.
Your qualifications
comprises a university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or (Veterinary) Medicine with a
PhD in the field of oncology or molecular biology, with a focus on biochemistry, cell biology or
pharmacology. Extremely good knowledge in the field of tumor and cell biology, general cellular
signal transduction and gene regulation are essential. You will ideally have professional
experience in the field of lead discovery or translational research, preferably in an industrial
setting. Expertise in the application of reporter and imaging procedures, epigenetic gene
regulation, cell cycle regulation, mechanisms of apoptosis or with in vivo tumor models would be an
advantage. Your position requires a sound working knowledge of English and the ability to deal
routinely with conventional IT applications. Your profile is rounded off by an ability to work in a
team as well as independently, a sense of responsibility, the ability to work under pressure,
organizational talent and the expertise to instruct and train staff.
