In Italy Bayer has five production
centers which employ more than 2,000 people. Garbagnate, near Milan, is one of the most important
sites for the production of pharmaceuticals. Filago, where crop protection agents produced, was the
first chemical park in Italy to be certified to the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme EMAS II.
Rosia is the location of the Biological Products Business Group's European center for the packaging
and distribution of blood products and of Kogenate® Bayer/Kogenate SF® , the first genetically
engineered Bayer preparation for the treatment of hemophilia.
