in Spain is Bayer's most important
production site in southern Europe where the company operates a state of the art MDI plant. The
site at La Felguera in Asturia accounts for 80 percent of Bayer's global production of the active
ingredient for Aspirin®, the "drug of the century". Zona Franca in Barcelona is home to a worldwide
competence center for raw materials used in the production of high quality wood coating systems.
There are seven Bayer production sites in Spain with a total of 2,300 employees.
