Bayer HealthCare in Korea Opens New Laboratory
Ansung, December 2010. Bayer HealthCare Korea recently
unveiled a new laboratory at its plant in Ansung, Gyeonggi Province. The facility is equipped with
the latest high-tech facilities for physical, chemical and microbial research and experiments to
assure quality control in the process and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Dedicated to
overseeing the overall processes and procedures associated with the production and supply of BHC
Korea’s products, the laboratory is expected to significantly contribute to improving quality and
productivity in the country.
Innovative Quality Control
“We’re very pleased to see the completion of our new state-of-the-art laboratory, made possible by
our continuous efforts to fulfill the company’s commitment to provide customers and patients with
innovative medicines. The laboratory will also contribute to boosting local community development
and creating opportunities for future growth” said Chris Buttkus, Head of Product Supply, at the
opening ceremony.
Together with staff and guests including Hwang Eun-sung, mayor of Ansung and other industry
represensatives, Friedrich Gause, CEO of Bayer Korea, attended the ceremony to celebrate the
opening. The laboratory is an expansion to the factory, which was built in 1994.
