Thailand’s Prime Minister Presents Prestigious Award to Bayer
Bangkok, September 2010. Stefaan De Vos, Site Manager of
Bayer Thai Co., Ltd. in Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate received the Prime Minister’s Industry Award
from Abhisit Vejjajiva, the Prime Minister, for the second year for the Map Ta Phut site’s
excellent management. An award presentation ceremony was held by the Ministry of Industry at the
Government House.
Award for Energy Management This year, the Map Ta Phut site was awarded for its strong commitments to the
energy management while last year, the site won this award for its remarkable safety management.
Annually organized since 1993, the award presentation was aimed to encourage industrial enterprises
to raise their bar in international excellence of industrial development. It also builds awareness
of industrial enterprises in social responsibility and environmental and energy conservation. Bayer
Thai was among 31 leading companies who were granted the award which was classified into seven
categories: Productivity, Environmental Quality Preservation, Safety Management, Quality
Management, Energy Management, Small and Medium Industries Management, and Logistics Management.
“Since 10 years the MTP plant focused on energy savings and management, at first for
economic reasons and now more and more out of social responsibility. This award strengthens Bayer
Thai’s good reputation in Thailand. I would like to thank all our engineers and employees for their
contributions to this success,” said De Vos.
