Bayer has a strong reputation in Asia

Hong Kong, November 2010. Bayer is the second most admired company in its sector in Asia. This was the outcome of an online survey of economic experts and readers of the business press recently published in The Wall Street Journal Asia. Bayer was ranked second among pharmaceutical companies after Johnson & Johnson. Bayer took 48th place among multinationals operating in Asia, this ranking being led by Apple, Google and Microsoft.

"We’re very pleased to have done so well in the survey. This shows that Bayer enjoys an excellent reputation in Asia, too, and that people acknowledge our commitment," said Michael König, Senior Bayer Representative for Greater China.

More than 2,700 managers and business experts from 12 Asian countries had given their assessments of some 170 international and 40 Asian listed companies from all sectors of industry in an online poll. Subscribers and online readers of the Wall Street Journal Asia also participated in the survey, evaluating the companies on the basis of the following criteria: long-term vision, quality, corporate reputation, financial reputation and innovation. Bayer moved up two places compared with the previous year’s ranking. The survey of readers of Asian business journals has been conducted every year since 1993.
