Bayer Taiwan Wins Third Place Among Foreign Companies
Taipei, August 2010. Bayer Taiwan has been honored with
third place in the Corporate Social Responsibility awards among foreign companies by the business
magazine Common Wealth. The award was presented by Liu, Yi-Ru, Minister, Council for Economic
Planning and Development. Fifty foreign companies were ranked, with IBM and Citibank taking the top
two spots.

Grace Lee, Head of Corporate Communications for Bayer Taiwan, stressed the company’s long
commitment to corporate social responsibility in her speech during the award ceremony. “Bayer
Taiwan has fostered local science education since 1999. The science projects includes sponsorship
of Bayer Science classrooms, science competitions, and Bayer Mobile Science education tour in
schools damaged by typhoon Morakot in 2009. Other projects have included the Bayer Campus Health
Center Renovation program, during which two hundreds employees from Bayer Schering Pharma
contributed their professional knowledge, creativity and time to renovate the health centers of
elementary schools in disadvantaged areas” said Lee.
Common Wealth Magazine is one of the country’s leading business magazines. The award winners
were selected by a committee comprising of selected renown representatives from academia field,
media and opinion leaders. Decisions were made on factors such as company management and corporate
commitment, social work and environmental protection.
