Bayer Vietnam Named One of Top 40 Companies
Ho Chi Minh City, March 2009. Recognition in Vietnam: The
Saigon Times’ recently published list of the Top 40 companies operating in the country’s key
southern economic hub included Bayer Vietnam, which was rewarded for its continuous business growth
and contribution to the local community. The competition had been organized under the heading "All
for an economy of Sustainable Development."
“We are honored to receive this award and to be recognized for our contribution to the country and
the local community” said David Champion, Managing Director of Bayer Vietnam Ltd. He added that the
company committed itself early to social activities in fields such as environmental protection,
science education and safety after opening its office in Vietnam 14 years ago. “We cooperated with
the Ministry of Industry in promoting and sharing experiences in implementing a Responsible Care
program, which played an important role in improving the HSE management for the local chemical
industry,” explained Champion.
The Saigon Times Top 40 Award organized by the Saigon Times magazine and the provincial
Departments of Planning and Investment is one of the country’s most prestigious awards. The four
provinces account for 36% of Vietnam’s GDP and 70% of its total export revenue.
