Cooperation with Guanghua School of Management at Peking University - Program for the Next Generation of Leaders Launched

Beijing. Support for the next generation of leaders: Bayer and the Guanghua Management School at Peking University (PKU) have signed a 2-year cooperation memorandum. Under the agreement, Bayer will offer two students full scholarships in addition to internships at Bayer Coatings. Bayer and PKU will also put in place a series of reciprocal lectures by senior managers and lecturers. This is the first ever such scholarship program between a Chinese university and an international company.

In an address at the event announcing the cooperation, Daniel Meyer, President of Coatings in Asia Pacific for Bayer MaterialScience, explained the significance of the cooperation. “Due to a rapid expansion of our business, we need to identify and cultivate those talented future leaders who share Bayer values and possess a good knowledge of Bayer business operations.” Students will spend their first two semesters in residence at the Guanghua Management School, before going to Europe to finish their studies at the renowned French management school ESSEC. Upon graduation, they will be awarded a dual Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Peking University and ESSEC.
Bayer's commitment to education already includes endowed university chairs in the fields of sustainable development, intellectual property, and health policy and education. Bayer and the Guanghua Management School aim to establish a successful model of cultivating high level managerial talents through their collaboration.
