Bayer honored as One of China's Top Employers in the Shanghai Region
Shanghai. Bayer was recently honored as one of "China's Top Employers 2007 Shanghai Region." Dr. Juergen Dahmer, President of the Bayer Group in Greater China, accepted the honorary plaque on behalf of Bayer during an award ceremony at Shanghai's Grand Hyatt Hotel in the presence of representatives from international business and academia. Bayer and 37 other local and multinational companies were recognized for their best-in-class practices in the area of human resources, such as unique talent attraction and retention programs.Bayer considers employees as its most important asset and perpetually strives to improve their careers and training opportunities. Accepting the award, Dr. Dahmer highlighted this philosophy in his remarks: "We are proud that our efforts have been recognized with this award. Human Resources management has been a core task in Bayer's 143-year history Bayer. Regardless of whether employees are locals or expatriates, we look at the potential of each and seek opportunities to develop their individual talents. We also promote diversity in talent as we believe that the combination of different abilities constitutes an asset for Bayer's success."
Top Employer is organized by the Corporate Research Foundation (CRF), an international publishing company that conducts research into best business practices in eight countries on three continents.
An international jury evaluated companies in the categories of Compensation and Benefits, Working Conditions, Training, Promotion and Development, Company Culture as well as Innovation for China's Top Employer 2007 Shanghai Region award. Following a strict selection process that included a self-evaluation through questionnaire, interviews with HR practitioners as well as an anonymized internet poll of employees at each company, a total of 38 local and multinational companies were selected for this year's honor. The companies involved will be featured in related publications, helping to build employer reputation in the public and ultimately assisting in recruiting and retaining the best talent.
