Bayer popular with students as a potential employer
Leverkusen, June 2010. The latest survey by employer
branding company Universum shows that science students at European universities rank Bayer among
the most attractive potential employers. When asked which employer they would most like to work
for, the European students put Bayer in third place after Google and Apple.

Compared with last year’s survey, Bayer moved up five notches in the European ranking to come in
ahead of GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, Pfizer and Roche, which were now placed fourth to seventh. The
students were especially positive about what Bayer has to offer in terms of career prospects,
work-life balance, salary and internationality. In the United States, Bayer came in 26th, ahead of
Apple.
"As an inventor company, we depend on our ability to recruit highly qualified people. We are
therefore very pleased that our company has such a high reputation among university students," says
Dr. Richard Pott, the member of the Group Management Board responsible for strategy and human
resources.
More than 21,000 students from over 100 European universities took part in the survey. In the
United States some 57,000 at 345 universities were polled. They were asked to name up to five
companies where they would like to work after finishing their studies.
