Bayer Among the World’s Most Attractive Employers
Stockholm, October 2011. Favored by students: a global
poll of more than 160,000 students by leading employer branding consultancy Universum
Communications places Bayer among the world’s 50 most attractive employers in the engineering
category.
Universum Ranking
"We're very pleased that students around the world rate us as an attractive employer," comments
Gabriele Oehlschläger, Head of Talent Management at Bayer. As an inventor company, she says, Bayer
considers the high ranking an acknowledgement of its efforts to build on its position as a leading
global employer through innovative capability and sustainable development.
The Universum index is based on the frequency with which students from the world's 12 largest
economies name a company as a preferred employer. Bayer was one of eight Germany companies in the
international list of the 50 most attractive employers for students seeking careers in engineering.
Similar ratings were achieved by automaker Daimler and U.S. computer manufacturer Dell, for
example.
"Bayer's inclusion in this global ranking gives it a major advantage in view of the
heightened competition for the best talent," says Stefan Lake, Country Manager Germany at
Universum, which recently published its index for the third time. More than 160,000 students of
business and engineering subjects from Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan,
Russia, Spain, U.K. and U.S. participated in the 2011 survey.
