Calgary.
Bayer CropScience Inc., Canada has been named one of the top 100
employers in the country by Maclean’s Magazine for the third year in a row. Bayer CropScience was
also recognized for the second year as one of the top 25 companies in the province of Alberta,
where its Canadian head office is located. "We as an organization continue to strive to offer our
employees an environment that is entrepreneurial in spirit and most of all, a place where people
can grow their individual talents. I am happy to see that this has been recognized" said Hartmut
van Lengerich, president & CEO of Bayer CropScience Canada.
Alberta's growing economy means competition for talent has increased, added
Nicole Davis, a senior HR manager at the company. BCS offers employees a wide range of benefits,
such as life-long learning opportunities and flexible personal days. "It's an incredibly important
attraction tool for us," said Davis.
In 2006, BCS was rated ‘exceptional’ in the areas of Health & Financial
Benefits, Performance Management, Training & Skills Development and Community Involvement. Over
1,500 employers were reviewed and ranked by the editors of Maclean's before settling on the best
100.
