Bayer Ranked Among the Top 50 Employers

Leverkusen, November 2009. Bayer is one of the world’s most attractive employers according to a global survey conducted by Universum, the employer branding research and consultancy firm. Universum asked 120,000 students at leading academic institutions to name their preferred employer. Bayer was ranked 35th in the Engineering category and 40th in the Business category.

“That is a result we can be very proud of,” comments Dirk Pfenning of the Center of Expertise People Development at the holding company. Employers are facing a shortage of skilled staff while the younger generation is being increasingly selective, according to Universum CEO Michael Kalinowski. “In this environment, employers need to create distinct employer brands in order to recruit the most talented people. The Top 50 companies are very successful at doing just that.”

The survey included students from the United States, Japan, China, Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, Russia, Spain, Canada and India.
