Why Bayer? Because of all the opportunities!
I worked at the Bayer site in Institute, West Virginia, for nine years, gaining experience in nearly all the sectors: maintenance, purchasing, operations, information technology and finally in a highly specialized post in change management projects throughout the United States.
What I like about Bayer is the fact that you are always encouraged to further your career, to try something new, and the fact that there are so many opportunities for doing this within the company. My latest challenge was to take over as site manager of the Formulations and Packaging plant here in St. Louis. At the same time I am project manager of the “North America Formulations Consolidation Project”.
In March 2008 I will embark on yet another new adventure when I move to Pasadena, Texas, as Director of Manufacturing and Tolling for the Bayer Environmental Science team.

Bayer is a truly global company. I have the opportunity to work with people from all over the world and in this way get to know different cultures and systems. Every day I experience just how important these totally different people and influences are to the success of the company.
In my current position I have direct contact with various teams in the United States, Europe and Latin America. Together we look out for the best practice methods that suit our respective workplaces.

For my own personal development it was immensely important to know how I could contribute to each of these aspects. It’s great working for Bayer. I still enjoy going to the office every day. The company supports me in my personal development and constantly provides me with new challenges – so I can look forward to an exciting future.
