„Plant for the Planet“: United Nations Billion Tree Campaign

Responsible Care is much more than a buzzword at Bayer

Talking about “responsibility” as part of corporate philosophy is not enough. Bayer is actively committed to the chemical industry’s worldwide Responsible Care initiative.

That means making sure that all employees actively embrace responsibility for meeting environmental protection and safety goals in their daily work. Bayer is committed to conserving natural resources, operating its facilities safely and minimizing the environmental impact of its activities. Success in the areas of environmental protection and safety is only possible if all employees apply their skills and expertise innovatively and responsibly. Bayer provides appropriate training in these areas because every individual employee is expected to set an example by his or her behavior.

Bayer is committed to Responsible Care. That means

  • taking the concerns of employees and the public seriously and making allowance for those concerns when developing corporate objectives.
  • keeping employees and the public informed about current safety and environmental trends and developments at Bayer.
  • developing Responsible Care objectives through a process of dialogue and creating the necessary opportunities for discussion.
  • formulating Responsible Care objectives in quantifiable terms wherever possible so that their attainment can be monitored.
